Schools can play an important role in supporting student health and well-being through substance use prevention, education, and intervention. Hear from our expert speakers and panelists, Dr. Emily Jenkins, Dr. Tonje Molyneux, Dr. Nathan Ngieng, and Connie Easton, as they explore the pan-Canadian Standard on school-based substance use, explore its relevance within the BC context, and discuss opportunities and challenges related to its implementation in schools.
The panel discussion is moderated by the Thriving School Communities team’s Specialist Coach on the topic of substance use, Dr. Maureen Lee. In this role, Maureen works with BC school districts to support them with substance use prevention, education and intervention and the implementation of the Standard in their communities.
