We're Raising Awareness for Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Kelty Team | February 1, 2022 | 1 minute

The Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness (PEDAW) campaign, led by Jessie’s Legacy, takes place every year from February 1st – 7th with activities and events happening throughout the year. Check out the below resources the Kelty Centre has developed to help raise awareness around prevention and early intervention of eating disorders:

  • Where You Are podcast episode: Eating Disorders: How Parents Can Play an Active Role in Recovery
    • In this episode, you'll hear questions and answers we often hear from families about supporting a youth with an eating disorder. The conversation covers how to support your child at home, managing meal times, what to do if your child refuses help, tips about how parents can play an active role in your child’s recovery, which treatments really work, and resources to support parents and caregivers.

  • Kelty Centre webinar: Eating Disorders in Youth- A Webinar for Parents & Caregivers (in collaboration with Jessie’s Legacy)
    • This webinar will help you understand the spectrum of disordered eating, recognize the early signs and symptoms, learn practical strategies for creating a supportive home environment, and more.

  • Kelty Centre Eating Disorders website: Be sure to visit our Kelty Eating Disorders website and let us connect you with resources and information for every stage of the eating disorder journey.
