A free 10 week program designed for families in B.C. with children aged 8-12 years old. The program supports healthy family behaviours in areas such as healthy eating, physical activity, screen time and sleep.

Better Nights Better Days

A program for parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders who have sleeping problems (ages 4-12). This is an online program developed by a team of sleep experts across Canada.

Nobody’s Perfect is a facilitated parenting program for parents of children from birth to age five. The program is designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, or socially or geographically isolated, and is offered in communities by facilitators.

Compass

Through phone and web-based consultation, the Compass team supports community care providers with information, advice and resources they need to deliver appropriate and timely care to children and youth experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. 

Connect Parent Group

Connect is an evidence-based 10-week manualized group program for parents and alternate caregivers of pre teens and teens who struggle with significant behaviour problems.

Tourette Canada

Support Groups for Tourette Syndrome

These support groups are for individuals and families living with Tourette syndrome in communities where existing support and services may not be readily accessible. Includes virtual peer support groups for parents of youth children, parents, youth, and adults, as well as video presentations. 

Bullying Canada (24/7)

Bullying Canada is a bullying support service run by youth for youth, providing phone and online chat resources.

Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN)

The Pacific Autism Family Network (PAFN) is a centre of excellence and network of supports for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families across the province.

Available 24/7 these phone services provide mental health support, information, and resources for people who are distressed as well as their friends and families. Available in over 140 languages using a language service.

posAbilities Association of BC

Laurel Behaviour Support Services

Offers individualized behaviour support services for children and adults with autism or other developmental disabilities. They offer Triple P Stepping Stones workshops, as well as other workshops for families, care providers and professionals.

Canadian Mental Health Association

Confident Parents: Thriving Kids

The Confident Parents: Thriving Kids programs helps BC parents and caregivers support their children aged 3-12 to manage either anxiety or behaviour challenges, through phone-based coaching.

Crisis intervention trained phone operators assist those in crisis 24hrs a day. KUU-US provides crisis services to all Aboriginal people across BC.

The Compassionate Friends of Canada

A non-profit organization offering support and grief education to families who have experienced the death of a child. There is a listing of support groups in the BC Chapter.

BC Bereavement Helpline

A non-profit, free, and confidential service that connects the public to grief support services in BC, including suicide grief support and loss due to substance use. Services include bereavement support groups, a toll-free grief and loss helpline, and community events.

BC Psychological Association

The BC Psychological Association offers free access to a listing of Registered Psychologists in your area. You can search by location, area of concern and therapy method.

Visit their website or contact them by dialing 8-1-1 You can speak with a health service navigator, who can also connect you with a registered nurse or dietitian, exercise professional, or pharmacist. Translation services are available in over 130 languages on request.
