Mental health literacy is fundamental to decreasing stigma around mental health issues and enhancing help seeking behaviour. The need for mental health literacy among teachers is important, particularly those working with youth aged 12 to 25, as this is when most mental health issues are diagnosed.
This Summer Institute will introduce you to The Mental Health Curriculum Guide. The Guide provides a complete set of educational tools and classroom-ready lesson plans shown to increase understanding of mental health issues among both students and teachers alike.
Who Can Benefit from this:
- School Counsellors
- Teacher Candidates
- School Administrators
- District Personnel
- Teaching Assistants
*This Summer Institute will introduce you to The Mental Health Curriculum Guide. Developed by Drs. Stan Kutcher and Yifeng Wei and now used across Canada and over 12 other countries, The Guide focuses on preparing you to develop your own mental health literacy using pedagogically familiar methods that can be directly applied to your own classroom.
