It can be frightening and overwhelming when a child or youth is experiencing mental health challenges. It is important to remember that, even though it may not be easy, most mental health challenges and disorders can be treated. It is also important to remember that you are not alone. There are many resources and places to find support that will help you through this journey.

One way to get more information about the mental health system is through our two system navigation videos. These videos provide families with helpful information on where to start when a child or youth is experiencing a mental health challenge. The videos are available in 7 different languages. BC Children's Hospital

This is an agency of Provincial Health Services Authority, providing provincial tertiary mental health services to the citizens of British Columbia. Programs include: Adult Tertiary Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatric Services, Child & Adolescent Mental Health, Women’s Reproductive Mental Health, as well as the Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program for children and youth located at the BC Children’s Hospital.
