Growing up can be challenging, especially if a parent is mentally ill. There will likely be disruptions when a parent is not doing well. Youth may not always be able to receive the care and support they need from their parent, and be required to take over responsibilities such as managing the household and caring for siblings. Our panel will offer parent, youth and service provider perspectives on how to overcome challenges and celebrate successes.

Speakers:

  • Kristina Dixon, Program Coordinator, Super Saturday Club (supports families experiencing parental mental illness)
  • Angela Inglis, Genetic Counsellor, Provincial Mental Health Genetic Counselling Program
