Kelty Meet & Greet: What Child & Youth Mental Health Resources Are Available in BC?

Aazadeh, Project Coordinator on October 26, 2015

The Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre is 8 years old, and to celebrate, we’re hosting an online Meet & Greet!  This Meet & Greet is for everyone across BC who is interested in learning more about the Kelty Centre, and options in BC for child and youth mental health.

We will be having an online webinar on Wednesday, November 25th from 12 – 1 p.m. to talk about what we do at the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre and how we help BC children, youth and families find the mental health and substance use support and resources they need. Members of the Health Literacy team at BC Children’s Hospital will also be on hand to talk about great child and youth mental health initiatives and resources that are available province wide.

Wondering about options across BC for your child or youth with mental health or substance use challenges? Interested in learning more about the peer support offered through the Kelty Centre? Looking for apps or tools developed for children and youth? We’ll cover all of those topics! Hear about Stresslr, our new stress management mobile app for children, learn about Stop Wondering, Start Knowing, our video-based mental health resource for schools, and much, much more

You’ll get a chance to talk to all of our Peer Support Workers in the Kelty Centre, and learn about our partnership with the FORCE Society for Kids’ Mental Health! Our FORCE Parents & Youth in Residence will speak about their roles at the Kelty Centre, and our Eating Disorders Peer Support Worker will talk about the work she does through the Centre and how she supports people of all ages with eating disorders.

We’ll also have lots of time for questions so you can tell us what you’re interested in learning more about. You can ask a question in advance through our registration form, by tweeting us using #KeltyMG, posting on our Facebook page, or joining us on the day of the webinar to ask live!

To participate, go to (code: keltycentre) on November 25th at 12 p.m. to view our presentation, and call 604-681-0455 (Toll Free 1-877-291-3022) and enter participant code 4611577#. You don’t need to download anything – just go to the website, call in and join us!
