Register Now for the 2015 Summer Institute!

Michelle Cianfrone, Project Manager on June 22, 2015

Registration for the 2015 Summer Institute is still open!  Our annual Summer Institute: Promoting Mental Wellness in BC School Communities will bring together school professionals, parents, youth and school community partners to exchange ideas for promoting child and youth mental well-being.

At this year’s Institute, Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl will share some of the latest science on Social Emotional Learning and how it relates to building connected school communities and resilient students.  Schools from across BC will share some of the innovative ways they’re engaging youth and families in promoting wellness, and participants will actively contribute to the WellAhead Social Innovation Lab on Child and Youth Wellbeing.

New this year, the Summer Institute youth subcommittee is planning a session that will incorporate youth voice into the event. Summer Institute participants will also have an opportunity to attend sessions on stress management, substance use, youth engagement strategies, digital media literacy and more!

The Summer Institute will take place on Thursday and Friday, August 20th-21st at UBC in Vancouver. For details and registration information, please visit http://keltymentalhealth.ca/si2015.
