Celebrate Child and Youth Mental Health Day on May 7

Brent on April 29, 2013

National Child & Youth Mental Health Day is coming up on Tuesday, May 7!

Child & Youth Mental Health Day is a national awareness day led by the Institute of Families, in cooperation with partners from across the country. Child & Youth Mental Health Day seeks to help create public awareness and acknowledgement of the thousands of children, youth and families needing mental health support and care across Canada.  This May 7th, the theme is ‘I care about you’, with an aim to connect children and youth with parents and caring adults. You can learn more about the day here: www.instituteoffamilies.ca/may7/overview.php.

This May 7 at the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre, we will be hosting friends, supporters, partners, and families to join in celebrating the day with food and informal dialogue. We will also have Child & Youth Mental Health Day posters, stickers, tattoos (temporary!), and ribbons that we will be giving out. We will be welcoming guests between 12:00pm – 2:00pm to come and celebrate with us, have some treats, meet our team, and learn about what we’re doing to support children, youth and families.

We look forward to seeing you this May 7 to celebrate Child & Youth Mental Health Day!

NOTE: Feel free to stop by the Kelty Centre anytime before May 7 if you wanted to pick up any Child & Youth Mental Health Day materials.
