Are you a parent, educator or service provider looking to increase your knowledge of child and youth mental health, substance use, and healthy living topics?
Our monthly Pinwheel Education Series give you a chance to learn about key mental health topics from a panel that features experts, parents and youth with lived experience. The format of the series is panel discussion followed by Q&A with the audience. Examples of topics we have covered in the past include psychosis, self-harm, binge eating, the benefits of mindfulness, and the mental health of Aboriginal youth. These education sessions are free and open to everyone.
Our upcoming session addresses the key aspects of children's social and emotional development from birth to three years of age, and offers parents and caregivers tips on how to foster the development of positive infant mental health. This event is in collaboration with the BC Healthy Child Development Alliance. We will be hosting Tammy Music, F.O.R.C.E. Parent in Residence, Joanne Wooldridge, Regional Leader of Early Childhood Development, Dr. Pratibha Reebye, Clinical Professor at UBC & Clinical Director of Infant Psychiatry Clinic at BC Children's Hospital, and Isabelle Majnaric, Infant Mental Health Clinician from the Interior Region on our panel of speakers. This event will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 12-1pm PST.
