Thank you to all of the participants, speakers, volunteers and sponsors who came together to make the 2015 Balancing Our Minds Youth Summit an inspirational day of dialogue and learning!  A detailed agenda of the event is available here.

Balancing Our Minds 2015: Everyday Champions of Wellness is a free, one-day event for high school age youth (13-18) in BC to learn about mental health and engage in fun activities and thoughtful dialogue. The 2015 event took place on Thursday, February 12th at Rogers Arena and focused on recognizing and becoming a Champion of Wellness!

Event Goals:

  • Increase knowledge about mental health and substance use
  • Build awareness of available mental health tools, resources and services
  • Decrease stigma and discrimination towards individuals experiencing mental health challenges
  • Generate ideas about how to promote mental wellness in schools and communities

Balancing Our Minds 2015: Everyday Champions of Wellness is organized by BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services in collaboration with the Vancouver Canucks and the Mental Health Commission of Canada. The event is planned in collaboration with youth organizations that work in the area of mental health and with youth who are passionate about breaking down barriers and creating connections.

BC Children's Hospital

This is an agency of Provincial Health Services Authority, providing provincial tertiary mental health services to the citizens of British Columbia. Programs include: Adult Tertiary Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatric Services, Child & Adolescent Mental Health, Women’s Reproductive Mental Health, as well as the Provincial Specialized Eating Disorders Program for children and youth located at the BC Children’s Hospital.
